Can you believe Thanksgiving is less than a week away?! Ugh! So fast! Not gonna lie my schedule has been all over the place and I have no clue what time it is, let alone the day or the month…but I’m happy and having fun so that’s all that’s important!

If you haven’t checked-out the latest installement of “Rebecca’s Rumors” do it after you’re done reading this! OMG about Eva Longoria and Tony Parker! So sad! I loved them as a couple – or should I say I love her and so anyone she’s with SEEMS wonderful until we hear sh*t like this! My heart goes out to her. As if it weren’t bad enough, having the whole world know is bound to make anyone feel embarrassed or like somehow you failed…and then the press will now analyize EVERYTHING she does! She went to starbucks – that means she wants to cut herself! Uh, maybe the girl just wanted some coffee!

For me personally, having someone cheat on you when you think it’s forever is devastating. I just don’t get it. If you want to go do your own thing – then just do it! Don’t string someone along in case something better doesn’t come along – let them go!

I believe marriage is forever, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have amazing examples – my parents have been married for 48 years, and my sister Patty has been married for 29 years. It CAN work, people just don’t take it seriously anymore. I use to joke with my ex (ex-boyfriend not ex-husband lol) that if we got married the only way we’d get divorced was if one of us died and that it wouldn’t be me – which then technically is widowed – but it was my way of saying “ride or die”.

So anyhow, enough of all that – let’s get to the weekend already right?!

The B96 Jinglebash is officially sold out and the only way to get tickets now is to WIN them! So make sure you check out the homepage because every Saturday until the concert I’ll be at a different CVS from 10am-2pm giving out tickets EVERY 30 minutes!!! Woo-hoo! This week I’m in Mt. Prospect so I hope to see you there!!!

PLUS – This Saturday, some good friends of mine are having the grand opening of their club called FML – Friends, Music and Libations! I am sooooo excited for them and of course to be a part of it! I’ll be hosting and there will be a live performance from my good friends the Jumpsmokers and DJ Flipside, as well as their resident DJ Rich Too Much Funk – who I heart as well! Good friends, good music and GREAT times to be had.

Hope all of you have a fun and safe Halloween Definitely one of my favorite holidays. I went out Wednesday and was a cat, Friday night I hosted at Shinto and was Cherry Pie (my “body guard” wore a t-shirt that said ‘Cherry Pie Eating Contest Winner’ w/a ribbon LOL) and Saturday night I was a Snowman. Sunday – which was actually Halloween – I was a hungover girl at work. The pics are up on my FB so check em out! HALLOWEEN 2010

Also this weekend my little neice Isabella turned 3!!! Can you believe it?! She is SO funny, and the best part is she doesn’t even know it. When she gets older she is gonna be hilarious. Now the following statement in NO WAY means I’m entertaining the thought of a spaun – but I love everything about her and am so amazed how much she changes and how her little personality is developing. She always puts a smile on my face…and she swears like a trucker which could be a reason why she’s my favorite LOL. She obviously is learning it from in-house (ha ha Jess & Eric) but to hear her sweet little voice say things like, “It’s f**ckin hot in here” could be the most priceless thing ever. She is better (with the occassional foul slip) and will also do anything for chocolate or stickers. Who couldn’t love that. Here is a pic of her dressed as Belle for Halloween:

Anyhow some other odds and ends – getting together for a Ladies night this week with ALL my girls finally – Holly, Nicole, and Anna Banana. I’m also gonna hang out with one of my old Rockford radio buddies Allasia and fulfill my pageant passion by being a Judge for the Northern Zone Pre- Preliminary (yes Pre-Prelim)interviews for the Miss Illinois County Fair Pageant. Pretty excited because I’ve never done it before – from that end at least. (That’s Sunday in Ottawa)

Other than that, I said last week I had a cool new place for you all to hang and I MEANT IT! The old Alumni Club/Crystals in the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn is now going to be “FML”!!!! They are giving it a facelift and making it SUPER bad*ss! Plus, I big heart the guys in charge and they know how to have an AWESOME time – even if you don’t drink. Just think the BEST live entertainment and fun anyday of the week! Their grand opening is Saturday, November 20th and DJ Flipside will be there mixing live, my good friend Rich Too Much Funk, the Jumpsmokers will be performing live and I’ll be there being the hostess with the mostess. Happy early Halloween! I’m so excited for it~ it’s one of my fave holidays!

I actually started my “fun” yesterday = pretty much useless today. Oh well it was worth it LOL. I did go to the gym today so I didn’t feel like such a waste so there!

Saturday night I’ll be joining my B96 family for “Rave from the Grave” at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg! Party starts at 10pm w/a costume contest worth $1,000! Hands down, THE most fun event we do aside from the Summerbash & Jinglebash! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I’m actually really excited for Halloween – it’s one of my favorite holidays – if not THE fave.

I’m all about getting dressed up! I have my costume for Saturday/Halloween night (top secret) and am pending on something for that Friday. I’ll be hosting at Shinto in Naperville (hint-hint come party with me) and then I’ll be joining my B96 family at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg on Saturday. Aside from the Summerbashes & Jinglebashes THAT is my favorite party. Go to the photos section on my FB or on this site and you’ll see. SO MUCH FUN!!! I can’t wait for this year!

That aside, I’m happy to say that my Dad is doing much better. He still has 1 surgery to go, but the date on that is pending due to some other minor health issues that are on the mend. I’ve said it so many times this year, and if you’ve ever had a sick parent (or lost one) this is by far the most stressful and frightening thing I’ve ever been through. I have so much respect for people who are “functional” after going through something like that. I’d like to think of myself as a “hard*ss” but seeing someone you love sick and being helpless is painful. My Dad is a LOT of personality and loves to be outside and active – and seeing him in a wheel chair and vacant was so incredibly devastating to me. It really makes you thankful for what you have and remember that NOTHING is more important that family. He is much better – about 60% physically…and at like 150% personality to make-up for lost time. My mom is ready to choke him ha ha!

On the work front – B96 is fun and busy and we’ve got so much cool stuff going on right now (check B96.com!!) and I’ve been helping out with our sister station Fresh 105.9FM. Some people were freaking out like “What’s happening?! Don’t you work at B anymore?” YES YES YES! B is my heart! Fresh is our sister station and 1 floor below B96 – they’ve been short-handed so it’s just like helping out family. So no worries – I am having a blast helping out…but am going no where

Things are good, and getting better now that the sun is finally being more of a regular! I am SOOO over winter, and the cold, and snow. I was a very lucky girl though because my neighbor Mark and friend 007 were very chivilress and did most of the snow removal. I have the longest driveway with this horrible dip at the end – so I was VERY grateful! Now that it looks like most of it (with the exception of this Saturday – what the heck was that?!) is gone so I will repay them in several beers at the bars we frequent in our neighborhood.

Anyhow, other than that – my niece Isabella is so funny and getting sooo big! I put pics of her all the time on my Facebook. She turned 2 in October and is just such a chatter box – and now we can finally understand what she is saying! Some of it obscene and repeated from her trucker-mouthed mother (lol) and the rest songs she learns in school. She says “Becky” so I am over-the-moon happy.

My Dad is doing well, but still dealing with some health problems. He has another surgery scheduled in early May and while we are not looking forward to it – at the same time we all want it to be over already ya know? I am very lucky to have a flexible schedule to be present when all of this is happening. Plus, I only live about 10 minutes away from my parents which is nice. I would like to move closer to the city for work – but until I’m sure things will be ok I’m not making any plans. Besides, I HATE packing and as much as I hate to admit it (because I faught Kelly on it when we first moved in) I do love this house…and my neighbors. Whatever is suppose to happen will though I suppose.

Anyhow, other than that. Work is awesome. We are starting to announce our Summerbash line-up so I’m really excited. Plus, I’ve been booked for a lot of upcoming events so make sure you check in with the homepage to see where I’ll be so you can come play!

Kind-of on a side-note, B96 was at the Auto Show a few months ago and I felt like such a rockstar because so many people came up to say they use to listen to Joe and I on XLC! Love it! Not “cool” like B96 – but definitely where I got to know so many of you well and got to be a part of your lives! Now that Joe is back in Illinois we always joke about a reunion show. Don’t know if that will ever happen – our schedules are so different (he’s still doing mornings) we haven’t even really hung out since he’s been back! Lol. I blame Tim! JK!

Long time no chat! Hope all is fab!

I was talking with my friend Fun Sarah the other day and she said she only had 2 weeks left at her 2nd job (waitress at an outdoor bar) – I was like why?! What happened?! Then I realized, oh sh*t! The summer is already over! Where the heck did it go??? Geez! I feel like I did nothing!

Seventy-five percent of my time has been spent working…and it’s growing…and great! I’m still on-air 3 days a week (Sat-Mon – check the homepage for special times and appearances), I produce 3 days a week – and all the spare seconds in between I blog for the B96 Blog and HD2 Blog - as well as adding a monthly entertainment blog for a website called Top Trendsetter International.
Perez Hilton watch your back! HA!

Aside from that, I’ve been doing my part for charity, the Latino community, and survived pageant season (as a judge and host) with flying colors. Got some cool things in the hopper that I’ll share soon. Just know if you haven’t seen me shakin it in the dance box, or drinkin the boys under the table…I’ve actually been up to good, and not evil!

Sunday night is my night to chill, or at least that’s what I’m trying to make happen! It’s so damn nice outside I’m using all my will power NOT to call my buddy 007 and neighbor to skip over to the bar down the street. Didn’t I say something about the summer being over? I should take advantage right? Hmmm…

Tonight is “True Blood” night though! OMG this is the greatest show in the whole world! Three episodes left until the season 2 finale! Funny thing is I caught the first episode (episode 1, season 1) by accident. I was working on the site and turned on the TV for background noise. The guide was wrong and said “Dreamgirls” was gonna be on (I know I’m a dork) and I just figured it would come on after whatever it was that was on. Next thing I knew I was hypnotized by the show. I’ve never been in to vampires – I haven’t even seen “Twilight”! Trust me the show is amazing! It’s based off a series of books by Charlaine Harris. There are 9 books so far – and the series isn’t exactly like the show – at least per the message boards! I know! That’s how in to this show I am! I checked friggin message boards!! Anyhow, I got the very first book and I’ve been taking the train so have time to read it…and you know I loathe the nastiness on the train. I am so aching to find anyone who watches this show so I can talk about it with them. If you watch it – hit me up! I am SO in love with Alexander Skarsgard’s character! If you look like him contact me too! HA!

ANYHOW, another week is starting tomorrow. I’ve decided I’ve been working too hard and while I only plan to work harder in the weeks to come, I need to force myself to have some fun! Last week I rode the train and didn’t bring my laptop to do work -ooooh bad ass! Baby steps ok? So Tuesday me, my friend Hot Tub Nicole, and girl Abby are gonna tear up the town for ladies night!Can’t wait! I’ll probably be recovering the rest of the week…but won’t be the first, or last!

On that note, I’m going to return some phone calls, and then relax!

To be honest I forget about this particular blog! I’m good about updating the B96 one and my Facebook daily…but “Rebecca’s Rumors” is once a week, plus I’m doing something now for a new website called Top Trendsetter’s International (enttertainment stuff so check it out) so my Myspace (if you’ve sent stuff to me my bad I’ll get to it) and this random thoughts deal gets the shaft! Now that things are starting to get busy for me I’m getting better at dividing up my time so Edgar will rest assure that I’m holding the streets down!

ANYHOW, hope you’ve all been good and behaving! I can say with all confidence that I HAVE! HA! Later on today – no promises! Some exciting things: my neice Shelby graduated from high school, my other neice Katie was home from Florida for a visit, and my sister Sylvia is coming out here next week with her family for a visit too. I am so excited! I love my family so much – no b.s. My sisters and neices are so much fun! I miss the days when we would be at my parents house all the time with no worries of catching planes or whatever. I would gladly pass up any night out to be with them…but work, distance and life don’t make it as often as we’d like. I’ve definitely come to appreciate that now since it’s rare that ALL of us are together in the same place and same time!

As for work – we are just days away from the B96 Pepsi Summerbash! It’s an awesome line-up! Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO, Cascada, Kid Cudi and Asher Roth. This is my 2nd bash from the “inside” and it was awesome getting to give out tickets to friends and family.

Last year I was still really new and I just remember being stopped by everyone, staff, security, INTERNS – like, “Uh, you can’t be back here this is for staff only” – and I was like I swear to god I’m staff! I thought it was hysterical. This year I should be cool! I’m co-hosting the pre-show with Alex Peace after I’m done broadcasting there from 10am-2pm…and then I can just kick-back and relax!

As far as I know I’ve got everything ready…finally got my outfit – I’m picking up my shoes tomorrow…and the best part…I’m meeting freakin PEREZ HILTON!!! I am so damn excited it’s almost ridiculous! There are more details to the story which I will share after the sacred event…but what better way to get me psyched for Saturday!

It’s almost 2 in the morning on Wednesday (technically that’s Thursday) and I am wide awake. I was hosting last night in the Mixmaster Room in Hennessy’s in Elgin (big up to Mixmaster Throwdown www.mmtd.com ) and had waaaaaaaaay too much fun so I stayed in tonight like a good little girl because me and the girls are going out tomorrow. Regardless, my sleep schedule is seriously a mess!

I had lunch with my good friend Monica today (Monica DeSantis – ‘former’ traffic goddess of the ‘former’ XLC Morning Show “Joe and Rebecca”) and she is in the same boat. Both of us have had goofy schedules now. She is working overnight (after 15 years of mornings) and I’m working Sat-Mon in studio and then am out and about the rest of the week (as in my schedule is never the same the rest of the week).

Trust me I LOVE the variety and am having a blast (check my calendar for each weeks events), but I don’t sleep much as it is…and now when I would normally sleep I’m working and vise versa!

Sunday night I went to bed at 6am…and woke up at 11am. Monday I FORCED myself to go to sleep at 5:30am and woke up at 9:30am…and last night I think I went to bed at 3:30am (Big up once again to Mixmaster Throwdown – ha!) and got up at 10am. Right now – I’m so wide awake it’s crazy. I might be a vampire. I have been known to bite.

I shared this information with my good friend Fatty, who is a big fan of all things vampire – and he thinks I’m nuts. He did however suggest that I could be the devil, which he has accused me of before. (I have a large beauty mark on my scalp which he claims is where my horn was cut off) I’m cold all the time though so that kills his theory and brings me back to Vampire. Anyhow…my other Vampire clue is that I am white as hell!

Lady Gaga was at the B96 studios last week and I took a pic with her in front of the Comcast Couch which is an off-white color…and I’m friggin lighter than the couch. HA! Yes, me! 100% Mexican me. No other explanation except Vampire. I’ll keep you up to date on that one.

Other than that – we’ve announced the line-up for the B96 Pepsi Summerbash (get your tickets at B96.com)on June 13th at Toyota Park! Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson, Cascada, LMFAO, Kid Cudi and Asher Roth. I’m so excited and I hope to see you there!

It’s more entertainment stuff (from me at least) that is just coming down the line – but we’re all doing it and it’s a blast!

Must say that I am loving being at work everyday. I could do without the train drama (the train being late, people getting HIT by the train, etc), but it beats the ridiculous morning commute and is waaay cheaper. Sooner that later though, I will move closer and I cannot WAIT! Just gotta wait for some other things to fall in to place!

Anyhow, B96 is so exciting right now. Slowly, but surely, we are creeping our way back up the ratings ladder! J-Niice and Julian are working so hard, and seeing them come in to their own together is exciting. It’s so cornball to say but obviously, I love my job and look forward to going on, but they (J, Julian, Showbiz Shelly, and their crew Tony and Mark) are having so much fun when I go in and it’s infectious and just a great way to start my day.

Radio from when I was growing up, to now when I work in it, is so much more interactive. You can listen online, read our blogs and comment, you can even text with whoever is live on-the-air. I have so much fun with that! I have people who I am so use to talking to on a regular basis and I look forward to it. Today we did a little flip-flopping schedule-wise so I won’t be in until later, but I look forward to everyday because it’s always something different, and I have fun – and I hope that comes across.

So since I have my day to myself – I have no glamourous stories to share! I was sick for the last week or so and finally broke down and saw the doctor. I do NOT do sick well. The diagnosis was ‘sinusitis’ (head cold), but the worst was I had a tickle in my throat and kept gagging – kinda putting a wrench in the whole job thing. I am for sure feeling better, but getting to sleep late today really helped. The only time I really sleep is when I’m sick…and I felt like all week I just couldn’t get enough.

I am so embarrassed to share this story, but the doctor I saw wasn’t my regular – and he was hotter than all hell! Tall, dark hair, little stuble from saving lives and not having time to shave, and gorgeous blue eyes! I couldn’t have looked nastier if I tried, and here he is asking about mucus and coughing – sexy right? I text my sister from the office and she was like, “I know who he is! I’ve seen him before” then she described him and I was like thanks for holding out on me! HA! He was a good doctor though. I’m sure he gets chicks falling all over him. Besides, I don’t chase…and I was honestly sick as hell. He stressed the importance of “taking care of myself,” (sleep, blah3) and asked what I did for a living. I told him and he was like, “Oh I don’t listen to the radio – but I’m sure you’re great” – uh yea thanks hot doctor. So if by some stalker chance you are reading this – how YOU doin! I was joking with my sister saying I was gonna throw myself down the stairs so I could go back with my hair done and a push-up bra. She laughed…but she may steal my idea! HA! Either way, I feel better. Thanks Dr. Sexy Blue Eyes!

Anyhow, aside of me being a giant dork. Had a birthday – fantastic! Rebeccapalooza gets crazier every year! 2010 will turn it out! I’ve been cleaning my house and doing laundry all day – more fantastic! Broadcasting from the Autoshow on Sunday – fantastic keeps coming! We are not talking about Valentine’s day – NOT fantastic…not bad either…but really?! Just another day!

And I’m spent! Gonna try and eat something and get my nails did for being a good,productive girl before I have to the Chi for work tonight! 7pm to Midnight! Listen and call in and keep me company!
